BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan College/Premier Bank Student-Athletes of the Week for Feb. 27 – March 12 are men’s tennis player Lukas Laipold and women’s lacrosse player Hannah Antonelli.

Laipold is a 6-1, 155-pound freshman from Premstatten, Austria.

Laipold came up big for the Bobcats in a 6-3 road upset over No. 50 Chowan last Saturday.

Playing at No. 1 singles, he defeated Adi Kalaiperov, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8.

He also got the Bobcats off to a solid start in doubles action as he and Pierre-Olivier Bedard downed Farid Hajizada and Kalaiperov by an 8-3 score at No. 1 doubles.

The Bobcats will return to action next Thursday against conference foe Fairmont State.

Antonelli is a 5-5 junior from Ellicott, Md.

She had a game-high five goals in a road win over Keiser two weeks ago.

She also contributed three groundballs and one ground control in the victory.

For her efforts, she was named the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

The Lady ‘Cats will return to action March 26 at Walsh.
