BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan College Student-Athletes of the Week for Oct. 23 – Oct. 29 are men’s soccer player Alessandro Armenia and women’s volleyball player Hannah King.
Aremnia is a 5-10 sophomore keeper from Rome, Italy.
He helped West Virginia Wesleyan secure the No. 2 seed in this week's MEC Tournament with a pair of shutouts last week.
He made three saves as the Bobcats earned a scoreless draw against No. 1 Charleston, and then had four saves in a shutout win over Wheeling Jesuit in the regular season finale.
Wesleyan is 10-5-3 on the season.
They will host Urbana Wednesday at 3 p.m.
King is a 5-10 senior outside hitter from Charleston, W. Va.
In a 1-1 week for the Lady Bobcats, King had game-high in kills in both games.
In a 3-1 home win over UVa.-Wise she had a game-high 16 kills and in a competitive 3-1 loss to Concord, she had a game-high 17 kills.
She also added eight digs in the two games.
Wesleyan (9-16) will play again Tuesday at Salem International and this Friday at home against Charleston.
