BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan College/Premier Bank Student-Athletes of the Week for Feb. 13 - Feb. 19 are men’s basketball player Mo Berchie and women’s indoor track and field performer Caysie Irving.
He shined last week against two nationally ranked opponents – West Liberty and Wheeling Jesuit.
In a road game against West Liberty, he scored a team-high 18 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists.
On senior day last Saturday with his parents in attendance, he went off for a game-high 30 points and added five rebounds and five assists against Wheeling Jesuit.
For the week, he averaged 24.0 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game and 4.0 assists per game.
The basketball team will be back in action this Thursday on the road against Shepherd.
Irving is a 5-10 senior from Charles Town, W. Va.
She tied her own school mark in the pole vault last Saturday in the Kent State Tune-Up Meet.
Irving had a vault of 3.25 meters which tied her previous mark.
Her vault of 3.25 meters currently has her in second place in the Mountain East Conference.
The indoor track and field teams will compete again this Sunday at the George Mason Last Chance Meet.
