BRIDGEPORT – West Virginia Wesleyan continues to be the standard bearer in the classroom and on the playing surfaces once again after the Mountain East Conference revealed their MEC All-Academic Team and Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2015-16 winter and spring semester.
To be a member of the All-MEC Academic Team, the student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and have a grade-point average of 3.70-4.00 in the semester of their championship season. To qualify for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and post a grade point average between 3.25-3.69 in the semester of their championship season.
Wesleyan once again dominated the list having the most student-athletes of the 12-conference teams to be named to both the All-Academic Team and the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
A total of 135 Wesleyan student-athletes were named to the MEC All-Academic Team and Commissioner's Honor Roll – 68 on the All-Academic Team and 67 on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Sports included in the spring semester are: baseball, lacrosse, men's basketball, men's tennis, men's track and field, softball, women's basketball and women's track and field.
Over 700 student-athletes were honored by the MEC, including 295 who earned All-MEC Academic Team honors in the eight sports included.
