Buckhannon, W.Va. -- The Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit completed a four game weekend sweep of the Bobcats concluding Sunday afternoon with two wins at JC Chambers Park in Wheeling, W.Va..
In game one the Bobcats' Robert Paterson and Spencer Webley both claimed two RBI's giving Wesleyan their total of four runs in the 6-4 loss to the Cards. Paterson had the lone multi-hit performance for the 'Cats while pithcer Zach Oliver (0-2) suffered the loss. The first three batters for the Cardinals managed five runs between them pacing Wheeling Jesuit in the victory.
Game two saw seven Bobcats left on base that would plague the team in the 5-1 loss. Wheeling scored twice in the bottom of the second inning but the Bobcats would answer right back in the top of the third with a run of their own, bringing the tally to 2-1. After a few scorless innings, the Cards would tack on three final runs in the bottom of the sixth to claim the 5-1 win.
The Bobcats will return home Tuesday afternoon to host the Shepherd Rams in a double-header beginning at 1:00pm.
