Rams Take Pair at Home Verse the Bobcats

Shepherdstown, W.Va. --  The Bobcat baseball team took to the road this afternoon as they traveled to Shepherdstown, W.Va to take on the MEC top-dog, Shepherd Rams.  The Rams would claim both contests; the first a close 4-3 decision and the second 6-0.

Game one would feature Daniel Powell on the hill for the Bobcats as he allowed only one earned run in five solid innings of work while collecting four strikeouts.  Despite only managing three hits, Wesleyan would account for three runs as right fielder George Brody, center fielder John Koon and 3rd baseman Corey Lynn would all have RBI's for the Bobcats.  The Rams would do the bulk of their work in the bottom of the first tallying three runs, however, the Bobcats would score one in each of the top of the 3rd,4th, and 5th innings.  Shepherd, then, stopped the bleeding with the lone earned run against the Bobcats in the bottom of the 5th to bring the score to the final 4-3 count.

Ram bats would explode for 13 hits and six runs in the second contest as Koon and shortstop James Fraser picked up the only hits for the Bobcats in the 6-0 loss.  Rams hurlers would tally 10 strikeouts against the 'Cats while keeping them scoreless.  With the two losses the Bobcats move to 8-17, 5-17 in the MEC, however, will return home for a two day stunt with the Concord Mt. Lions before the Easter Holiday.
