Baseball Snags 3 of 4 from Pioneers

Buckhannon, W.Va. --  The West Virginia Wesleyan baseball team closed out their season snagging three out of four wins verse rival Glenville State Saturday and Sunday at Hank Ellis Field.  Sunday, four seniors, Tom Brunswick, Zach Oliver, Robert Patterson, and Spencer Webley were honored for their hard work and dedication to the program.

The Pioneers were determined not to be swept coming out in game one firing four runs in the top of the 1st and three in the top of the 2nd to scare the 'Cats back in their cage for a 8-1 Pioneer victory.  However, the seniors of Wesleyan were not about to be without one final victory wearing the orange and black as game two faired much different.

Wesleyan would score five runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning on their way to a 7-4 win despite the Pioneers answering with three of their own runs in the top of the 3rd.  Wesleyan's Daniel Powell would collect the victory as James Gainer finished the effort with the bulk of the work, totalling four innings.

The Bobcats will finish up a tough 2014 campaign 12-25 overall, 9-25 in their inaugural MEC season, but with much to look forward to next season as all but the four seniors will be returning with game experience.
