VIENNA – The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcat baseball team dropped a 15-4 decision to Ohio Valley today in a non-conference action.
The game started out well enough for Wesleyan as they scored two runs in the top of the first.
Ohio Valley scored a run in their half of the first to make it a 2-1 game.
Rotarius singled to center field which scored Austin Keene in the top of the second to give Wesleyan a 3-1 advantage.
Ohio Valley pushed across four runs in the third and three in the fourth inning to grab an 8-3 lead.
Wesleyan cut the lead to 8-4 in the top of the fifth when Fraser scored from second base on an Ohio Valley error.
Ohio Valley plated two runs in their half of the fifth to up their lead to 10-4.
They would score three more in the sixth inning and two more in the eighth inning.
Wesleyan was outhit by a 19-8 margin.
Koon led the offense with three hits.
Wesleyan used seven pitchers in the contest with Alex Wall taking the loss.
Ohio Valley improved to 6-10 overall
Wesleyan dropped to 1-11 overall.
Weather permitting, the Bobcats will return to action Saturday when they host West Liberty Saturday in a doubleheader.
First pitch for game one is set for 1 p.m.
