Billy Reams started his college career in 2006 at Allegheny College of Maryland where he spent two seasons. In 2006, he earned All-Maryland JUCO First Team honors. Following the 2007 season, Reams transferred to Wesleyan where he finished out his final two years. In his first year as a Bobcat, Reams started 40 games from his catcher and first base positions. He hit .320 with 36 RBI's during his junior campaign. Reams started another 37 games as a senior, hitting .299 with 33 RBI's and team leading six home runs.

He joined the Bobcats in 2011 for his first season as assistant coach.
