Derrell Hand spent four seasons at Notre Dame before transfering to West Virginia Wesleyan for his senior season. The Philadelphia, PA native wreaked havoc on opposing offensive lines tallying 38 tackles, including 12 for a loss with 3.5 sacks earning first-team All-WVIAC honors. He graduated from Notre Dame in 2010 with degrees in Sociology and Computer Programming.

Hand played his high school football at West Catholic and was first-team All-State as a senior.

Hand is engaged to Courtney Rayam.
