Roy Rodriguez joined the West Virginia Wesleyan coaching staff during the summer of 2011. The Bronx, NY native brings a wealth of football experience to the staff.
Rodriguez played two seasons at Southern Connecticut State in 1986-87. Rodriguez would get his degree in 2006 from Kennedy-Western. He played semi-pro for the Brooklyn Mariners until 1992 when he got his first coaching job at his alma mater Mount Saint Michael Academy where he spent three seasons. In 1995 he became a volunteer assistant at Fordham. In 1998 he was brought on board Fred Marinani's (now football operations director at Rutgers) staff at Iona. Coach Rod spent the summer of 2001 coaching Roanoke Steam of the Arena League. Rodriguez was the special team's coordinator for one season before the program folded. He spent three years away from football before coaching the Lubbock Renegades of the AF2L.
Rodriguez spent 2009 as the defensive line coach/video coordinator at Chowan and in 2010 was the defensive coordinator at Milford Prep Academy in New York.
Rodriguez is married to the former Ann Henry who is a professor at Texas Tech. The couple has been wed since 1998 and has three children Kennedy (11), Kristi (10), and Chase (8).
