Buckhannon, W.Va. -- Today marks the first day of inaugural post-season play for the Mountain East Conference presented by GoMart and both the Women's and Men's teams will be in action this evening at 7:00pm. The Women will be traveling to take on the Falcons of Fairmont State while the Men will host the Urbana Blue Knights.
Both teams are coming off tough losses to Glenville State last Saturday afternoon at Rockefeller Center but now the stage is much higher as one more loss equals the end of your season. The Women will look to rally and catch the Falcons looking past Bobcats as Fairmont State has won both regular season battles pretty handily. Wesleyan will look for another outstanding performance from Chloe Bland, as she tallied her first double-doulbe of the season against the Pioneers, to accompany her Bobcat teammates if Wesleyan is to have a chance at the win.
The Men's squad will look to hold a winless Blue Knight team to just that, winless. That will not be an easy feat, however, as Urbana has come close on several occasions to obtaining that first Mountain East win. The Bobcats have claimed both regular season matches but beating a team three times in one season is never an easy task. Wesleyan will look to their regulars, T.J. Thompson and Brett Ervin, the team's two leading scorers, to set the attack. After hitting somewhat of a cold spell against the Pioneers the Bobcats are looking to set the pace and capture a victory that would land them in the Charleston Civic Center Friday night at 8:15pm with a rematch against number four seed Fairmont State.
