Grantham, Freiermuth Named Wesleyan Student-Athletes of the Week

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan College student-athletes of the week for Jan. 12-18 are men's basketball player Garrett Grantham and women's basketball player Allyson Freiermuth.

Grantham, a 5-11, 175-pound senior forward from Shepherdstown, W. Va., helped the Bobcats to a 2-0 week with victories over Wheeling Jesuit and Urbana.
He had 11 points, three assists and two steals in a 69-47 victory over Wheeling Jesuit and then was red-hot against Urbana scoring a game-high 30 points to go along with six assists and one steal in a 73-64 win.
Grantham and his Bobcats will return to action this Thursday when they host Glenville State at 7:30 p.m.
Freiermuth helped the Lady Bobcats pick up their first win of the season with a 69-60 win over Urbana Saturday.
Freiermuth, a 5-10, sophomore guard from Marcy N. Y., poured in a game-high 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the victory.
Earlier in the week against Wheeling Jesuit, she finished with seven points and three rebounds.
The Lady Bobcats will return to the court this Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off with Glenville State.
The Wesleyan athletes of the week will be recognized in Wednesday's Record Delta, the local newspaper in Buckhannon.
