McGrew Named MEC Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- West Virginia Wesleyan's Tanner McGrew is the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week after recording three double-doubles last week. 

McGrew, a senior from Buckhannon, W.Va., averaged 27.3 points and 19 rebounds in three games last week for the Bobcats.

He opened the week with 18 points and 10 rebounds against Davis & Elkins, and then poured in 37 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in a win over UVa-Wise on Thursdaynight in MEC play.

He capped the week with 27 points and 24 rebounds in WVWC's triple-overtime win over previously unbeaten Concord.

Tyree Gaiter (NDC) averaged 31.7 points and 6.7 assists in a 2-1 week for the Falcons ... Seger Bonifant (WLU) scored 22 points in each of WLU's three games last week and had a double-double in a two-point win over No. 8 Fairmont State ... Pat Moseh (WJU) averaged 17 points, four rebounds and four assists as the Cardinals split their two games ... Terry Hopewll (CU) averaged 18 points and 15 rebounds in two games ... Jalon Plummer (GSC) averaged 15.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in three games ... Jahmere Howze (UU) scored 17 points against Charleston and had 39 points and 11 rebounds vs. West Virginia State ... Matt Bingaya (FSU) had 19 points and 6.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week.
