BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- UVa-Wise's Matt Day and West Virginia Wesleyan's Tanner McGrew share Mountain East Conference Player of the Week honors for their efforts last week.
Day, a senior from Buckhorn, Ky., averaged 28 points and 15.5 rebounds in two games for the Cavs last week. After 28 points and 12 boards against Averett, Day helped key UVa-Wise's win over No. 14 King University with 28 more points and 19 rebound, including five on the offensive end. He moved into 17th place on UVa-Wise's all-time scoring list with 1,172 career points.
McGrew, a senior form Buckhannon, W.Va., averaged a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds as the Bobcats picked up a pair of wins last week. He opened the week with 21 points and 10 rebounds to go with three blocks in a win over Shawnee State. McGrew then hit 13-of-17 shots from the field for 31 points and pulled down 16 rebounds as the Bobcats handled Bluefield State.

Tino DiTrapano (UC) had 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting and had seven assists in a win over Davis & Elkins ... Aaron Miller (CU) averaged 19 points in two games ... Tyree Gaiter (NDC) once again filled the stat sheet with 26 points, nine assists, five rebounds and five steals in a win ... Thomas Wimbush (FSU) had 15 points and 12 rebounds in a non-conference win over Winston-Salem State.
