BUCKHANNON – First-year head coach Jack Meriwether has announced the dates for his first official West Virginia Wesleyan Men's Basketball Camp this summer.
The dates for the camp are Monday, June 26 – Thursday, June 29 for youngsters ages 8-14 and will be held in Wesleyan's Rockefeller Center.
The cost of the camp is $150 for those who pre-register and $175 for walk-ups.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
Check-in is slated for Monday, June 26th from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in Rockefeller Center.
Lunches will not provided and campers must bring their own lunch.
The camp will include daily fundamental instruction by Meriwether, assistant Bobcat coach Sidney Crist, Bobcat players and other selected coaches.
The camp will have five-on-five competitions, as well as guest speakers interacting with the campers.
Coach Meriwether is in his first year as the head coach at West Virginia Wesleyan, after serving as the interim coach for half of last year.
Coach Meriwether brings a wealth of knowledge and excitement to the Bobcat program.
Prior to his time at Wesleyan, he spent the last three years in central Virginia coaching some of the top players in the country as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Boo Williams' 17-Under EYBL team.
Under Williams, he coached six McDonald's All-Americans, as well as the No. 10 pick in the last year's NBA draft, Thon Maker. In addition to his work with Williams, Meriwether also has extensive coaching experience at the high school and post-graduate level.
Meriwether spent two years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator to the post-graduate basketball team at Fork Union Military Academy.
