Wesleyan Men Lose Home Battle with Urbana

BUCKHANNON -- After an intense first half of basketball, Urbana came out of the intermission firing on all cylinders. With the game tied at 41-41 early in the second half, the Blue Knights went on a 16-0 run to take control of the game with 10 minutes of action remaining. Wesleyan continued to battle throughout the game, getting within seven points with under two minutes to play. The surge stalled though and Urbana picked up it's second win of the season.

The Blue Knights recieved 28 points out of Malik Jacobs. Jacobs proved to be efficient, shooting 84.6% (11-of-13) and dishing out four assists. His three-point jump shot started the 16-0 run. Urbana also received a strong game out of Roy Hatchett who racked up seven assists.

Wesleyan leaned on the trio of Aaron Ariri, Luka Petrovic, and Fred Brondsted to provide a spark on offense. All three scored in double digits with Ariri dropping a team high 15 points on the night. Petrovic added four steals to go with his 12 points. The Bobcats got back into the game late showing a press that gave the Blue Knights problems. Wesleyan shot 61% (25-of-41) from the field and knocked down 78.9% (15-of-19) of their foul shots.

Urbana improves to 2-10 on the season, and 1-6 in the Mountain East. Wesleyan drops to 1-12 on the year, and 1-6 in the league.
