Golf 'Cats 14th at Cecil Spadafora Invitational

INDIANA (Pa.)James Snavely (pictured) leads the way for the West Virginia Wesleyan men's golf team after day one at the IUP-Cecil Spadafora Invitational here Sunday afternoon.

Snavely is in a tie for 28th place with after shooting a 76.

Teammate Ryan Holcomb is in a tie for 51st place with a day-one total of 79

Rounding out the Bobcat roster is John Huggins in 69th (83), Cullen Hoone in a tie for 75th (84), Nick West in a tie for 80th (85) and Luke Browne is in 84th (109).

"Day one concluded with two of our players having their collegiate best rounds in Snavley and Hoone," remarked head coach James Huber. "This was also Browne's first collegiate tournament."

Andrew Patterson from West Chester has the individual lead after day one with a 69.

As a team, the Bobcats are 14th out of 15 teams with a round of 322.

LeMoyne College and West Liberty are tied for first with a 294.

"The team struggled on the greens and we are looking forward to making up some ground like they did last week in round two at Stonewall," concluded Huber.

Day two of the tournament will conclude on Monday.
