BUCKHANNON -- West Virginia Wesleyan's men's golf team completed play in the Mercyhurst Fall Classic on Monday. The team followed Sunday's team score of 330, with an improved 328 team tally on Monday.

According to head coach James Huber, the second round effort was of particular note because of the elements. A significant storm swept through the Lake View Country Club before teams could play the back nine.

"The course was literally drenched," Huber said. "Several areas of the course had some standing water, and made the play very difficult from that point on."

Wesleyan was 11th in the strong 16-team field after day one. At press time, final team results were not available.

Nicholas Casingal (pictured) and Nick West each led the Bobcats with rounds of 79 on day two. John Huggins and James Snavely  each carded 85's and Ryan Holcomb added a 91. Freshman Jake Borden was entered as an individual and matched Holcomb's 91.

"I am really proud of the effort of the guys in this tournament," Huber said. "There were some really good teams in this event, and our team went out there and competed. We are making some solid improvement as a team."
