Alumni Update -- Jordan Halpern '16 Signs Pro Contract

BUCKHANNON – Jordan Halpern, a 2016 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan and a former stand-out soccer player for head coach Gavin Donaldson, recently signed his first professional contract.

Halpern, a native of Brussels, Belgium, returned home and signed a one-year contact with the FCV Dender EH.

The FCV Dender EH play in the Belgian Third Division out of Denderleeuw, Belguim.

Halpern was a four-year starting midfielder for the Bobcats.

During his senior year, he led the team in scoring with eight goals and six assists for 22 points.

Halpern reaped in the awards his senior season.

He was named to the Mountain East Conference All-First Team, the D2CCA All-Atlantic Region First Team and the NSCAA NCAA Division II Men's All-Atlantic Region Second Team.

"It's exciting for us to continue to place players in the pro ranks after they have finished their academic and athletic careers here," remarked Donaldson. "Jordan is certainly one that we hoped would get the opportunity he deserved as one of the top players over his four years at Wesleyan. All of teammates will be following his career and wishing the best for him."
