Field and Seedings Set For MEC Men's and Women's Soccer Tournaments

BRIDGEPORT -- The field and seedings have been set for the 2016 Mountain East Conference Men's and Women's Soccer Tournaments.

On the men's side, the University of Charleston claimed the regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the tournament. The Golden Eagles will meet West Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Schoenbaum Stadium.

The Bobcats of head coach Gavin Donaldson have one more regular-season game, a non-conference home affair with Salem International this Monday at 6 p.m.

They currently have a 10-7 record.

Urbana has one regular season game remaining but has clinched the second seed and a home game. The Blue Knights will kickoff on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. against third seed Notre Dame.

On the women's side, Notre Dame claimed the regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the tournament. The Falcons will play host to fourth-seeded West Liberty on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Mueller Field.

Charleston will be the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will take on third-seeded West Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Trace Fork Fields.

The Lady Bobcats of head coach Patrick Houlguin have ended their regular season with a 12-2-3 record.

The winners in the semifinals will play for the championship on Sunday, Nov. 6, at the home of the highest remaining seeded team.
