Demul On CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team

BUCKHANNON – Jens Demul of the West Virginia Wesleyan College men's soccer team has been selected as a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team.

The award recognizes student athletes for their hard work both on and off of the playing field. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.

The native of Antwerp, Belguim, started 17 of 18 games and led Wesleyan in goals scored with six and ended the year tied for the team lead in points with 12. He also had four game-winning goals.

Demul carries a 3.82 GPA as a Business Administration major.

Demul served as the lone Academic All-America selection for Mountain East Conference.

CoSIDA began the distinguished Academic All-America program in 1952, and since then, has honored thousands of deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America scholar-athlete honors.
 
Currently, CoSIDA sponsors Academic All-America programs for men's soccer, women's soccer, football, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball and men's and women's track and field/cross country. Many other sports are eligible through the At-Large program.
