Swim Teams To Hold Swim-A-Thon For Breast Cancer Awareness

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's swim teams are promoting a breast cancer awareness campaign and a swim-a-thon to raise fund for the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center in Morgantown.

"Each student-athlete will swim for one hour straight without stopping during the swim-a-thon," remarked head coach April Gitzen.

Supporters for each swimmer can donate a given amount per each lap that is swam by the student-athlete or they can give a flat donation to the cause.

"We decided to do this because our team has been affected by breast cancer in many ways and this is our way of giving back to the cancer center as we hope for a cure," stated Gitzen.
