Schopper Named ASC Male Swimmer of the Week

BUCKHANNON --The following athletes have been selected as swimmers of the week for the Appalachian Swim Conference. 

Male Swimmer of the Week 

Dominik Schopper - (Sophomore, West Virginia Wesleyan College) 

In Wesleyan's dual meet against Salem International Friday night he won the 100 IM with a 58.35, won the 100 free with a 49.27, was also part of the winning 400 free relay. 

On Saturday, Wesleyan had a dual meet against conference rival Wheeling Jesuit.  Dominik was victorious yet again in the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.11 (which now ranks him 2nd in the ASC), won the 100 breaststroke with a best time of 1:00.00 (which now ranks him 4th in the ASC), anchored the winning 200 free relay splitting a 22.87.  

Female Swimmer of the Week

Kaitlin Wright (Junior, Notre Dame College)

Wright took home three first-place finishes in a dual meet loss to fellow ASC school, Malone. Kaitlin started out the meet by finishing first in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:20.06, dropping over a second from her time from last week. She then finished first in the 500 Freestyle in 5:27.82, dropping nearly 10 seconds from her previous season-best time. In a quick turnaround, she then swam the 400 IM and touched first in 4:59.69.
