Swim Teams Compete in Day One of RMC Invitational

ASHLAND, Va. -- West Virginia Wesleyan's swim teams completed day one of the Randolph Macon RMC Invitational Friday afternoon with five top ten finishes in the 11-team event. Both teams sit in eighth place in the highly competitive meet.

Camilla Brizzii led the women with a third place finish in the 50-free (24.83). The 200-free relay team of Marylee Gowdy, Nina Flores, Chelsea Jesso and Brizzi swam to a seventh place spot in 1:41.56.

Julian Morassi led the men with a second place swim in the 500-free (4:47.70). Dominik Schopper raced to a fourth place in the 200-IM (1:58.72), while the 400-medley relay team Schopper, Morassi, Logan Knoyer and Dan Williams placed eighth in 3:41.61.  

Wesleyan's women tallied 69 points on day one, with men posting 64. Washington & Lee has the top spot on each side.  

Competition concludes Saturday in the RMC Natatorium.
