BRIDGEPORT -- West Virginia Wesleyan's Pedro Nassar has been named Mountain East Conference Player of the Week after helping West Virginia Wesleyan earn three wins last week.
Nassar, a sophomore from Margarita, Venezuela, went 6-0 in singles and doubles last week as the Bobcats earned a share of the MEC regular season championship and the top seed in this week's MEC Tournament.
He opened the week with a win at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles against Concord, and then had key wins at No. 5 singles and No. 2 doubles in a regional win over Shaw. Nassar closed the week with a straight-set win at No. 6 singles and also teamed with Ramon Rodriguez for a win at No. 2 doubles against Charleston.
