XC Bobcats Lose Dual Meet with Ohio University in 2014 Debut

ATHENS, OHIO – The West Virginia Wesleyan men's cross country team opened their 2014 season in a dual race with Ohio University Friday afternoon.

The Division I Ohio Bobcats tallied 15 points while the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats amassed 50 points.

Nathan Whitacre (Bloomery, W. Va.) was the top Bobcat runner, placing 10th with a time of 27:54:82.

West Stowers (Oak Hill, W. Va.) was the other lone Bobcat to finish in the top 15, running 14th with a time of 29:08.18.

Jake Gentile of Ohio won the 23-man race with a time of 26:19.25.

The Bobcats will return to action next Saturday at the Bethany Invitational.

The Invitational will begin at 10:30 a.m.
