Nathan Whitacre Runs Sixth at Lock Haven; Team Places Fourth

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Nathan Whitacre paced the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcat cross country team with a sixth-place finish in a crowded field at the Lock Haven Invitational Saturday morning.

In a field of 199 runners, Whitacre's time of 25:43 placed him in sixth.

The other top Bobcat runners were Matt Dearth in 23rd with a time of 26:26 and Sean Snyder in 33rd in 26:50.

Rounding out the 'Cats who scored were Brody Born in 43rd (27:14) and Aaron Estep in 44th (27:16).

Wes Stowers also had a top-50 placement, running 48th (27:25)

Other top 100 Bobcat finishers were Marshall Sharp in 58th (27:36), Derrick Chaffin in 64th (27:43), Chad Longanacre in 68th (27:48), Marcus Black in 80th (28:05), Zach Abbott in 81st (28:06).

Ben Robinson of Lock Haven won the time of 25:19.

As a team, the 'Cats compiled 137 points. 

Lock Haven won the team title with 43 points.

The Bobcats of head coach Jesse Skiles will return to the course on Oct. 11 at Slippery Rock.
