BUCKHANNON – Despite solid showings against a loaded field at the Mack Cooper Invitational at Slippery Rock this past weekend, both the West Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's cross country teams took a tumble in the latest Atlantic Regional rankings.
The women dropped two spots, falling from sixth to eighth place.
The women are still the lone Mountain East Conference team in the Top 10 of the Atlantic Region.
The men, who were unranked two weeks ago, cracked the Top 10 last week landing at No. 10.
This week, the voters knocked the Bobcats back out of the rankings.
Wheeling Jesuit, the lone MEC squad in the Atlantic Region, is 10th.
The top three for both the men and the women will receive an automatic qualifying bid.
Both teams will have a tune-up run at Salem before competing in the MEC Championships on Nov. 8.
