Wesleyan a Favorite For Another Men's MEC XC Title

BRIDGEPORT -- West Virginia Wesleyan and Wheeling Jesuit top the Mountain East Conference Men's Cross Country preseason poll. The Bobcats and Cardinals each finished with 75 points and four first-place votes in the vote conducted by the league's coaches.

Wesleyan and WJU have each won a MEC title in the first two years of the league with the Bobcats claiming the title a season ago. Wesleyan brings back first team All-MEC runners Brody Born and Matt Dearth, while Wheeling Jesuit returns a pair of standout sophomores in Colin Radabaugh and Albert Schrimp.

Concord was picked to finish third with 62 points, followed by Charleston and UVa-Wise in a tie for fourth with 52 points. West Liberty and Notre Dame tied for sixth with 39 points, and Fairmont State (29), Glenville State (15) and Urbana (12) rounded out the poll.

The 2015 MEC men's and women's cross country championships will be held Sat., Oct. 24, at the Bridgeport Recreation Complex.
