Cats, Lady 'Cats Run on New Bridgeport Recreational Course

BRIDGEPORT – West Virginia Wesleyan head cross country coach Jesse Skiles sent partial teams to the Mountain East Conference Preview Meet at the Bridgeport Recreation Complex here Saturday morning.

The Bridgeport course will host the Mountain East Conference Championship meet for the very first time on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Three teams participated in the Preview Meet – Wesleyan, Concord and West Liberty.

On the women's side, Bre Mazzella finished 11th with a time of 30:44 while Sarah Phillips was 14thwith a time of 33:40.

The rest of the Lady Bobcat roster included Kirsten Campbell in 16th (33:59), Nia Dunnigan in 17th(35:56), Dawn Craft in 18th (39:40) and Samantha Beall in 19th (42:54).

On the men's side, Marshall Sharp was seventh with a time of 31:54 while Chad Longanacre was 10thwith a clocking of 32:54.

Rounding out the Bobcat line-up was Zach Abbott in 12th (33:22), Craig Westfall in 16th (35:06),Wesley Knotts in 18th (36:28) and Mark Camenzuli in 21st (43:13).

Both teams will return to action this Saturday at the Lock Haven Invitational.
