Bobcats Take Ninth at Atlantic Regional XC Meet

LOCK HAVEN – The West Virginia Wesleyan men's cross country team ran a strong ninth-place against a loaded field in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional here today at Lock Haven University.

Matt Dearth (pictured) was the top Bobcat runner as he took 39th out of 134 runners with a time of 32:43.

Marcus Black was 56th with a time of 33:31, Wes Stowers was 63rd (33:41), Sean Snyder was 71st (33:54) and Colin Wallace rounded out the scoring in 72nd (33:55).

Chad Longanacre was 90th (34:13) and Brettley Harris was 109th (35:19).

Dylan Mountain from Lock Haven (Pa.) won the individual title with a time of 30:27 while Kieran Sutton of Shippensburg was second with a time of 30:31.

The Bobcats ended the event with 301 points.

Shippensburg won the team title with 35 points while Lock Haven was second with 41 points.

"The runners raced hard in a regional that is getting deepr and tougher each year," remarked head coach Jesse Skiles. "It was great to see our men get into the top ten after entering the meet unranked."

The regional meet wrapped up the 2015 campaign for the Bobcats.
