Cross Country 'Cats Picked to Finish Third in MEC

BRIDGEPORT -- Concord has been picked by the league coaches to win a third-straight conference title in men's cross country.  

The Mountain Lions finished with 71 points and seven first-place votes. CU won the conference championship and became the first team in league history to earn a berth in the NCAA Championships. Concord brings back its top four runners this year, including last year's Runner of the Year, Jason Weitzel. 

Charleston was picked to finish second with 61 points and one first-place vote, just ahead of West Virginia Wesleyan (59) and Wheeling Jesuit (52). Fairmont State was picked fifth (39), followed by UVa-Wise (32), West Liberty (31), Notre Dame (29), Glenville State (23) and Urbana (8).
