BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- Shepherd's Kaitlyn Konopka is the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week, while West Virginia Wesleyan's Hannah Vet is the league's Pitcher of the Week.
Konopka, a sophomore from Medford, N.J., hit .545 (12-for-22) as the Rams went 5-1 last week. She went 3-for-6 with an RBI as the Rams split a doubleheader against No. 21 West Chester to open the week. She then went 9-for-16 (.563) as the Rams swept doubleheaders against both West Liberty and Wheeling Jesuit. For the week she scored six times and stole eight bases.
Vet, a junior from Naples, Fla., went 3-0 last week with two shutouts and a no-hitter for the 10th-ranked Lady Bobcats. She fired the no-hitter against Salem International where she fanned eight Tigers in seven innings of work. She then pitched another complete game shutout giving up just four hits against West Virginia State. She closed the week with a win against South Division rival Charleston allowing just one run on four hits with four strikeouts.

Tori Pogue (WVWC) hit at a .545 clip with 13 runs scored in a 6-0 week for the Lady Bobcats...Emily Kusmits (NDC) was 5-21 with two doubles and two home runs over the course of six games... Olivia Cleary (UVa-Wise) went 7-11 (.636) at the plate with a 1.200 slugging percentage in a 4-0 week for the Cavaliers...Beth Cook (FSU) batted .400 with a double and homerun in a split against West Liberty...Sydney Bennington (WLU) finished the week with a .385 average (5-13) in six games for the Hilltoppers this week.

Tara Hanson (SU) earned three wins on the mound including a complete game victory over #21 West Chester. She allowed just three earned runs while striking out 15 batters with no walks in 19 innings of work...Taylor Brands (UVa-Wise) went 2-0 with one save on the mound this week. She struck out 17 batters in 18 innings of work, allowed just two runs off seven hits while walking four. She recorded her 11th shutout of the season against Urbana...Taylor Olson (NDC) earned one win in three starts for the Falcons and recorded nine strikeouts in 19.2 innings of work...Allie Reid (CU) earned two wins for the Mountain Lions while hitting .400 at the plate, scoring four runs, and knocking in six RBIs in a 4-0 week for Concord...Megan Bosley (WLU) posted a 1-1 record last week.
