Track Competes at Duke and Bethany

The Wesleyan track teams were split this weekend between competition at Duke University and Bethany College.

DURHAM, N.C. – For the women, Rachael Hullet came in tenth in the 5000m (18:45.39) and Ashli Knotts threw the Javelin 38.85 meters, earning seventh.  Jordan Tate leaped 1.58 meters in the high jump to earn a ninth place finish.  

The men were successful in the 1500m with Skyler McCoy earning third (4:08.75) and Luke Finley finishing seventh (4:09.74). Zach Shreve ran to a sixth place finish in the 110 meter hurdles (14.78) and a tenth place finish in the 400m hurdles (55.96). Eric Myers came home fifth in the discus throw (49.34 meters) and eighth in the shot-put (15.22 meters)

BETHANY, W.Va.  – Christine Azevedo earned a second place finish in the 1000 meter run (43:16.46). Ali Johnson ran second in the 400 meter hurdles (1:10.67) and earned a third place finish in the triple jump (10.42 meters). The 4x400 relay team of Ashley Ferguson, Ashley Lavengood, MaeBeth Fischer and Brittani Gaskins turned in a third place run with a time of 4:30.76.  

Richard Sho-Silva earned a fifth place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.78 meters.

The track teams return to action at Glenville on Friday.
