Geneva, Ohio - West Virginia Wesleyan's women's track team placed in three events on day one of the D-II Team Challenge at the SPIRE Institute. 

Buckhannon-Upshur graduate Lauren Cvechko placed third in the pentathlon, scoring 3059 points and breaking the WVWC school record in her first multi competition. The DMR squad of Karena Moran, Cassidy McCullough, Ali Johnson, and Naomi Underwood raced to a fourth place finish and another school record in 12:21.28. Philip Barbour graduate Brianna Waybright also placed, taking seventh in the 5000 with a time of 19:20.34.

Ryan Gregory led the Bobcat men on day one, scoring 2392 points on the first day of the heptathlon. He stands in sixth place going into day two. The 25-team meet resumes today.
