Women's Track and Field Earns USTFCCA All-Academic Team Award

New Orleans -- The West Virginia Wesleyan women's track and field team was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association D-II All-Academic team.

In order to qualify for the All-Academic honors, a team must carry a cumulative 3.0 GPA. The Lady Bobcats finished with a 3.28 team GPA.
 
Seven different Lady Bobcats were named to the President's List with a 4.0 GPA.
They were: Ali Cunningham, Anne Harman, Karena Moran, Ashley Rizzo, Leah Stone, Baylee Summers and Dana Tomasello
 
Fifteen runners were named to the Dean's List with a GPA above a 3.5.
 
They were: Keana Bertocci, Alberta Crawford, Kesley Crowe, Adrian Cunningham, Makena Haney, Gretchan Lantz, Haylea LeMasters, Bailey Rhodes, Amber Stewart, Jordan Tate, Naomi Underwood, Teal Jackson, Erica Walker, Alexis Walsh and Brianna Waybright,
 
Wesleyan was one of four women's track teams from the MEC to earn All-Academic Team recognition joining Charleston, West Liberty and Wheeling Jesuit.
 
"I am very proud of this accomplishment for our program," head coach Jesse Skiles said. "It is especially impressive to me, in that we have a larger roster than a lot of other track teams. This required some strong leadership within the women on the team to hold onto a true academic culture."
