Lady Bobcats Sink UPJ, 79-51
BUCKHANNON, W.Va.—Wesleyan took advantage of a 17-3 run in the second half to send the senior class off with a 79-51 win over Pitt-Johnstown on Wednesday night.
Lydia Bridenbaugh (17), Jamie Kaufman (16), Brittany Maxey (16) and Jasmine Brown (10) all scored in double figures for the Lady Bobcats. Kaufman added a game-high nine rebounds for Wesleyan.
A trio of scorers registered double digits for UPJ; Nicole Carman, Kayla Loughner, and Sara Trimarco put up 11 points apiece.
Wesleyan jumped out to a 19-9 lead, the quick start was ignited by a three from Teresa Tokodi. The Lady Cats answered with a 10-0 run; UPJ notched a pair of traditional three point plays during the run. The Lady Bobcats reeled off the next 12 points to go back in front 31-19; WVWC hit a pair of threes during the run. The Lady Bobcats went to the break holding a 37-27 lead.
The Lady Bobcats opened the second half with a 17-3 jolt to take a commanding 51-30 lead; Maxey and Kaufman combined for 14 of the 17 points. Wesleyan would lead by as many as 36 on their way to the 79-51 victory.
