Brink Wins Individual Title for Lady 'Cats In Season Debut

PHILIPPI, W. Va. – Sandra Brink (pictured), the phenomenon freshman from Sweden, won her very first collegiate tournament as she won individual honors for the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat golf team in the two-day Alderson Broaddus Fall Invitational at the Bel Meadow Golf Course.

Brink shot an 83 on Friday and an 89 on Saturday for a two-day winning score of a 172 as she outlasted 24 other golfers.

Teammate Katie Casey finished third after firing a 176 (87-89).

Rounding out the rest of the Lady Bobcat line-up was Megan Hunter in 21st with a 243 (129-114), Keenan Moreta in 22nd with a 265 (140-125) and Gabrielle Saygers in 24th (164-145).

Despite first and third-place individual finishes, the Lady 'Cats placed fourth of the four teams competing after shooting an 856 (439-417).

Alderson Broaddus won the team title with a 715 (359-356) while Ohio Valley University was second with a 741 (374-367) and Ursuline was third with an 845 (426-419).

The women will return to the links on this Friday when they play in the two-day Mercyhurst Invitational.
