WHEELING – The West Virginia Wesleyan women's golf team put three performers in the top 17 here after two days of play in the Mountain East Conference Spring Championships at the Oglebay Resort.
Katie Casey was the top Lady Bobcat golfer as she finished ninth with a two-day total of 168 (85-83).
Sandra Brink placed just outside the top 10 as she finished 11th with a two-day total of 171 (86-85).
Becca Davis finished 17th as she fired a 175 (84-91).
All three ladies earned Mountain East Conference honors. Casey was named to the MEC All-First Team, Brink was selected to the MEC All-Second Team and Davis was named to the MEC All-Honorable Mention Team (see other press release for more details).
"It was a good accomplishment to place three ladies in the top 17 of the conference golfers," remarked head coach James Huber said. "I was very proud of our overall effort today. They have given all they have all season long and I think they will keep getting better."
Rounding out the Wesleyan line-up were Gabby Sayger in 36th and Amanda Clifford in 37th.
Natalia Jornet from Concord won low medalist honors with a 152.
Wesleyan finished seventh as a team with a 790 (389-401) two-day total.
Charleston claimed the team title with a 672 (332-340).
Wesleyan will wrap up their spring season on April 18-19 at the Ohio Valley Spring Challenge at Belpre, Ohio.
