Schaffner, Lubic Share MEC Lacrosse Honors

BRIDGEPORT -- West Virginia Wesleyan's Natalie Schaffner is the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Kim Lubic is the league's Defensive Player of the Week.

Schaffner, a junior from Severn, Md., had 11 goals and three assists in two games for WVWC. She scored four times and and had three assists in a win over Davis & Elkins, then powered the Bobcat attack against Charleston with seven goals. 

Lubic, a junior form Pittsburgh, Pa., helped Wesleyan to a pair of victories last week, including an MEC win. She forced five turnovers and seven ground balls in two games for the Bobcats, and also came up with four draw controls in a win over Charleston.
