The Lady Bobcats finished first in the poll with 51 points and six first-place votes. WVWC swept last year's MEC regular season and tournament titles and finished the year with a 17-1-3 record while earning an NCAA Tournament bid.
Wesleyan will start the season ranked 22 in the nation by the NSCCA.
Notre Dame and Charleston tied for second in the preseason poll with 55 points and each received a first-place vote. Shepherd was picked fourth with 40 points, followed by Urbana and West Liberty in a tie for fifth with 31 points. Concord (22), Wheeling Jesuit (18) and Fairmont State (11) round out the poll.
