URBANA, Ohio – The West Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team recorded their 12th shutout of the season as they went on the road and earned a 1-0 victory over Urbana Blue Knights in a Mountain East Conference outing.

The lone goal was scored by Haelly Ramirez in the 47th minute when she scored off a rebound and beat Urbana keeper Katherine Beech.

Wesleyan's defense made sure Urbana stayed off the scoreboard for the final 43 minutes.

The Lady Bobcats owned 11 shots and six on goal.

Urbana was limited to six shots and two on goal.

Wesleyan goalie Chelsea Hubner (pictured) turned away both shots she faced.

Wesleyan had a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Lady Bobcats improved to 11-2-3 overall and 10-2-3 in the MEC.

Urbana dropped to 2-12-1 overall and 2-10-1 in the conference.

Despite the win, Wesleyan remains in third place in the conference with the post-season tournament looming. The MEC takes the top four teams, but the top two get home field advantage in the first-round.

Wesleyan will close out their regular season this Wednesday on Senior Day when they host West Liberty.

The game will begin at 7 p.m.
