Mary Cooper Earns Spot on All-Atlantic Region Second Team

BUCKHANNON -- The Division II Conference Commissioners Association announced the D2CCA NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-Atlantic Region Team recently and West Virginia Wesleyan's Mary Cooper earned Second Team Honors. 

Cooper is a junior defender from McKeesport, Pa.

She anchored a defense that posted 13 shutouts in 18 games and only gave up seven goals all season.

She also scored two goals from her defender position.

Cooper was one of seven Mountain East Conference players selected to All-Atlantic Region Team.

The Atlantic Region Player of the Year was Scarlet Walsh from West Chester University.

Cooper was recently honored on the All-MEC First Team.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. 

The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies, and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
