Camilla Brizzi Named ASC Women's Swimmer of the Week

BUCKHANNON -- The following athletes have been selected as Swimmers of the Week for the Appalachian Swimming Conference:

 

Women's Swimmer of the Week

Camilla Brizzi (Junior, West Virginia Wesleyan College)

Brizzi, a Junior from Warrenton, Va led the Bobcats as they opened up their season at the West Virginia State Games, finishing third out of the nine team field.

In her individual events, Brizzi finished 11th in the 50 Freestyle (25.32), 20th in the 100 Free (56.73), 29th in the 200 Free (2:08.83), and 18th in the 100 Breaststroke (1:17.45).

She also competed on every relay splitting 25.02 in the 200 Free Relay (1:44.91), 56.52 on the Freestyle leg of the 400 Medley Relay (4:24.27), 2:08.25 on the 800 Free Relay (8:35.04), 56.85 on the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:52.60), and the Freestyle leg of the 200 Medley Relay (1:57.11).

 

Men's Swimmer of the Week

Adrian Aleksandrowicz (Junior, Emmanuel College)

Aleksandrowicz, a junior from Lublin, Poland finished first in three events as Emmanuel College took on Bethel University, Campbellsville University, and Point University in a quad meet.

Aleksandrowicz started the day by leading-off the 200 Medley Relay with a Backstroke split of 23.65 in way to a first place finish in 1:41.61. In his individual events, Aleksandrowicz took first in the 50 Freestyle in 20.86 and first in the 100 Backstroke in 52.11. Emmanuel went on to beat all three teams while winning 10 of the 11 events contested.

Aleksandrowicz currently ranks second in the 50 Free and ninth in the 100 Backstroke in Division II according to Collegeswimming.com.
