BRIDGEPORT -- West Virginia State has been selected by a vote of the league's coaches to once again win the Mountain East Conference title in women's tennis.
The Yellow Jackets, who have won three MEC regular season and tournament titles, finished atop the poll with 45 points and had four first-place votes.
WVSU finished just ahead of Charleston in the poll with the Golden Eagles collecting 44 points and three first-place votes. The Yellow Jackets handed UC its only conference defeat last season and downed the Golden Eagles in the tournament championship, 5-1.
West Liberty finished third in the poll with 39 points, followed by West Virginia Wesleyan (32), UVa-Wise (23), Fairmont State (18), Shepherd (16) and Concord (7).
