Lady 'Cat Netters Being Season With 8-1 Win Over ABU

PHILIPPI -- The West Virginia Wesleyan women's tennis team kicked off their 2016 season with 8-1 victory on the road today at Alderson Broaddus University in non-conference action.

The match, originally scheduled for home, had to be moved due to the delay in the completion of Wesleyan's new tennis complex.

Despite going on the road, the Lady Bobcats swept all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches to claim the win.

All of the doubles matches were close, as the Battlers extended the Lady 'Cats right to the end.

Wesleyan returns to the court on Sunday as they travel to Morgantown for a home match with Shepherd University in their Mountain East Conference opener.

Match time is 10 a.m. at the Ridgeview Racquet Club.
