Lady Bobcats Debut New Complex With 6-0 Win Over CU

BUCKHANNON - Playing for the first time on their new tennis courts, West Virginia Wesleyan turned in a 6-0 Mountain East Conference win over short-handed Concord University Thursday afternoon.

Six different Lady Bobcats contributed wins in the six matches completed.

Three other matches were not held due to incomplete lineups for the Mountain Lions.

Earning doubles wins were Paula Pimenta and Cecila Martinez at No. 1 and Samantha Smith (pictured) and Lauren Shelton at No. 2

Getting singles wins were Rebekka Heigermoser at No. 1, Pimenta at No. 2, Martinez at No. 3 and Kasumi Hayashi at No. 4

The win moved the Lady 'Cats' MEC record to 4-0 and 5-0 overall.

They return to their new courts on Sunday to play against non-conference rival Bluefield State.

The match is set for 3 p.m.
