Tennis Lady 'Cats Improve to 7-0 With Win Over FSU

BUCKHANNON – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats remained perfect on the season as they had an easy time with the Fairmont State Lady Falcons Monday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference match at the new tennis complex on Wood Street Field.

The Lady Bobcats won the contest by an 8-1 score.

That left them with a perfect 7-0 record overall and a 5-0 mark in the MEC.

The Lady 'Cats were a perfect 3-0 in doubles action as Paula Pimenta and Cecila Martinez Oliver beat Trinite Klamadji and Hayley Hatfield at No. 1 (8-3), Rebekka Heigermoser and Sarah Cameron bested Greena Lammertin and Mollee Brown at No. 2 (8-1) and Estel Fernandez and Mariona Junyer defeated Janay Beamer and Kate Lauerman at No. 3.

Earning singles wins were Martinez Oliver at No. 2, Martinez Oliver at No. 3, Fernandez at No. 4, Juyner at No. 5 and Cameron at No. 6

West Virginia Wesleyan will return to the courts Tuesday as they host the University of Charleston in a conference clash at 3 p.m.

"We played well against Fairmont State and are looking forward to playing Charleston tomorrow," remarked head coach Marc Walters.
