Multi Performers Off to Great Start at 49er Invitational

CHARLOTTE -- After day one of the Charlotte 49er Invitational, all three West Virginia Wesleyan multi performers are in the top five.

On the women's side, Lauren Cvechko is leading a 15-athlete field with 2819 points after day one's four events.

Cvechko won three of the four events overall, taking the 100-hurdles (with a personal best 15.17), as well as the high jump and shot put.

Senior Amber Stewart is in fifth place with a score of 2621 points.

On the men's side, junior Alan Crise is in second place with 3129 points after day one's five events.

Crise was the individual winner in the shot put.

Day two of the multis commences Friday morning at 9 a.m. with the rest of the regular meet beginning at 11 a.m.

The Bobcats' long Friday will conclude with the 5000 meter races which should conclude close to 11 p.m. Friday night.

Saturday will feature the finals in many of the running events in the large and historic meet.
